Oceans away

The song is “Anchor’s Aweigh,” as in hauling up the anchor to move out.

Maybe that is what the Global Warming Hoaxers should do.

Over the weekend, the hoaxers tried a new tactic to sell their junk science.

From MSNBC: “Even if humans stop producing excess carbon dioxide in 2100, the lingering effects of global warming could span the next millennia. The results? By the year 3000, global warming would be more than a hot topic — the West Antarctic ice sheet could collapse, and global sea levels would rise by about 13 feet (4 meters), according to a new study.”

That’s a rate of 1 inch every 6.4 years.

In other words it is a nonsensical number pulled from someone’, um, cranium.

Less than 72 hours after that piece of crap was floated, John Kehr refuted it.

Not rebutted, refuted. Proved it wrong.

From John Kehr: “Based on the most current data it appears that 2010 is going to show the largest drop in global sea level ever recorded in the modern era.  Since many followers of global warming believe that the rate of sea level rise is increasing, a significant drop in the global sea level highlights serious flaws in the IPCC projections.  The oceans are truly the best indicator of climate.  The oceans drive the world’s weather patterns.  A drop in the ocean levels in a year that is being cited as proof that the global warming has arrived shows that there is still much to learned.  If the ocean levels dropped in 2010, then there is something very wrong with the IPCC projections.”

The straws these hoaxers grasp are many and after a while both annoying and amusing.

… And, added the “Hockey Stick of Decline” to our slang language. Like “dupnik.”

I foresee a day when the thesaurus will list as synonyms for “hoax” the phrases “pulling a Hansen”, or “making a Mann”.
